MAINTENANCE
Whether your roof was installed by us or someone else, D. Hughes Roofing offers maintenance services to help clean and maintain your roof. We also provide gutter cleaning, moss removal, pressure washing and more.
SKYLIGHTS
Skylights and Solatube Daylighting Systems are a great way to brighten up any area of your home. They are energy efficient natural light all day. Add drama to main living area or kitchen. Brighten up your bathroom without jeopardizing your privacy. Bring natural light into rooms in your home that don’t have an exterior wall while reducing your energy costs.
OUR PROCESS
- We’ll go over roofing options, and create your free no obligation roofing estimate.
- We can also schedule your project timeline and start date.
- The materials for your new roof and a construction dumpster will be delivered either the day prior or morning-of our first day. Our dumpster needs to be as close to the home as possible so please move your cars a safe distance and out of the garage you will need them.
- To prepare for our crew, please consider relocating any patio furniture or valuable yard items to protect them as construction can be dusty.
We begin by tearing off the old roof and installing waterproof underlayment to keep your home safe in the event of rain.
Next is Installing your new roof! Our team will install all of the components of your new roof:
- A Solid Nailing Surface: If your existing roof only has skip sheathing, we will install 1/2″ CDX plywood as required by local building codes.
- Vapor Barrier: 30lb. ASTM D226 rated felt underlayment.
- Ice and Water: Install ice and water shield under all valley metal and at all penetrations.
- Starter Material: As required by the manufacturer.
- Your Chosen Roofing Materials: Composition, Tiles and Slate, Torch Down, Membrane, Metal, Composition, or Shake.
- Ridge: D. Hughes Roofing uses CertainTeed High-profile Mountain Ridge on every roof we install.
- Venting: Installed on horizontal ridges.
- Pluming: The existing rubber/galvanized plumbing boots will be removed and replaced with full length, solid lead pipe flashing sleeves with matching prefabricated lead rain caps.
- Exhaust Vents: For kitchen and bathroom fans.
- Flashing: Valleys, gables, rake edges, step, chimney, roof to wall, and gutter edges.
- Skylights and Solatubes: Existing skylight will be removed and replaced with new, energy-efficient options.
- Permanent Roof Anchors: Attached to the peak of the roof. This will provide an anchor point for fall protection equipment.
- At the end of the project, the site will be cleaned of all roofing debris and materials. This will include the roof, gutters, and grounds. We also clean the grounds after every workday.
- Our Crew Lead will do a final walk-through with you. They will show you what we’ve done, and answer any final questions you might have. Your satisfaction is our top priority and we appreciate your business.
